John Gscheidmeier is a lifelong Waukesha County resident, public servant, business owner, and proven leader with nearly three decades of service to his community. His career spans 29 years in public safety as a police officer, firefighter, and educator, where he has trained and mentored hundreds of law enforcement professionals across Wisconsin. In addition to his public safety background, John brings more than 25 years of business and leadership experience as a broker/owner, where he has successfully led and developed a team while managing operations, budgeting, and organizational accountability.
At home, John is a devoted husband to his wife Samantha and a proud father to their two daughters, Aria and Avery—roles that ground his perspective and reinforce his commitment to building a safe, strong community for families across Waukesha County. Currently serving as a Waukesha County Board Supervisor, John has built strong relationships across municipalities and departments while advocating for responsible governance, collaboration, and public safety. He is running for Sheriff to bring experienced, forward-thinking leadership to the office—focused on strengthening partnerships, enhancing accountability, and ensuring Waukesha County remains safe, trusted, and prepared for the future.

Early Service in Public Safety
Began career serving Waukesha County as a dispatcher and firefighter, building a foundation in emergency response and community protection.
1992–2014
Law Enforcement Career
Served as a police officer and trainer, including over two decades with the Glendale Police Department, gaining extensive real-world law enforcement experience.
Statewide Training & Instruction Leader
Taught at multiple technical colleges and trained officers across Wisconsin, contributing to over 200 police academy classes and 233 total training programs statewide.
Drug Recognition Expert & State Leadership Role
Certified as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and later appointed as a Regional Coordinator, overseeing and supporting law enforcement professionals across multiple counties.
Business Owner & Organizational Leader
Built and led a successful business, managing teams, budgets, and operations—bringing real-world leadership, accountability, and management experience.
